Weather Notebook: due in class. Here is an example of a finished product.

Web resources:

Buckeye Wx webpage: Our Department’s weather data site, including archived surface analysis maps, with an additional set of real time observations on the roof of Denny Hall. There are some links listed below (and under Additional links) that may also come in handy, but it is by no means a comprehensive listing:

National Weather Service, Wilmington, OH: This site manages climate data for Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. This will give you access to summaries of the Port Columbus Airport ASOS data. You can also access real time data, and forecasts.

NCAR-UCAR: This is the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and they have a link to a real time weather page. You can look up real time data by station id: KCMH (Columbus Int’l Airport), KOSU (OSU Airport)

NOAA daily weather maps: Good site for synoptic analysis maps from previous days, both surface and 500 mb.

UNiSYS weather: You can enter your zip code from this page and get the same data from Columbus Int’l Airport (KCMH)

Unisys archive: can download maps of past weather from this site

Weather Underground: This site compiles daily data for a few Columbus stations. You can also look up past days.

Weatherbug: NBC4 Columbus weather page.

Accuweather

Plymouth State University: This university maintains a weather site that allows you to access Ohio data (links to same data, but also lets you customize your plots).

College of DuPage: weather server.

University of Wyoming: weather server.
