This drill dome houses the complete drill set up and all the core processing activities. The dome makes it possible to work in any type of weather. The weather can be quite variable on the Greenland ice sheet.
This typical 4-person field camp includes 4 sleeping tents, one kitchen tent and the drill dome and supported an intermediate depth ice core drilling project at PARCA Site D2, Greenland in 1999.
1999 Greenland field team members included Johnny Burkhart, Ellen Mosley-Thompson, Ross Edwards and Victor Zagorodnov (from left to right).
